PennState RecFest 2019 The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center PM&R, in collaboration with Penn State Health Rehabilitation Hospital, will be hosting the third annual Penn State Rec Fest on May 18, 2019 at Penn State Harrisburg College campus in Middletown from 11:00 am-5:00 pm rain or shine. Some demonstrations include: wheelchair rugby, basketball and baseball, scuba diving, kayaking, tennis, golf, fencing, dance, service dogs, sled hockey, track chair, adaptive hunting equipment, adaptive snow/water ski equipment, gardening and more. The goals of Penn State Rec Fest are multifaceted: Increase awareness of community members, healthcare providers and those with disabilities of the adaptive sports, recreation and exercise in our community Bring opportunities for participation in adaptive sports, recreation and exercise to improve overall health and quality of life Allow for hands on participation of adaptive equipment Have exhibitors available to showcase programs and resources in the community Enhance the local college programs through volunteer participation at this event Create a platform for research and an opportunity to gather data Penn State Rec Fest is for every one of all ages, with or without a disability.
